tert-Butanol (TBA, also tert-butyl alcohol / 2-methyl-2-propanol) is a colorless crystal or liquid with a characteristic camphor-like odor; melting point ~25.5 °C, so it may be solid or liquid at room temperature. Miscible with water and soluble in most organic solvents such as ethanol and ether.
