The principal industrial use of sec-Butanol is catalytic dehydrogenation to methyl ethyl ketone (MEK, ~70-80% of consumption); also for esters (sec-butyl acetate etc.), as a solvent in coatings/inks/cleaners/resins/dye dispersants, and in fragrances, food additives (flavors), flotation agents, organic-synthesis intermediates and chromatography standards.
