2,6-Dimethylpyridine (also 2,6-lutidine, 2,6-dimethylpyridine) is a clear colorless-to-pale-yellow liquid with a characteristic pyridine-like odor and a minty/nutty note; it may darken on prolonged storage or light exposure. It is a weakly basic heterocycle (conjugate-acid pKa ca. 6.6).
